Dr. Raluca Ioana Cascaval

Dr. Raluca I. Cascaval, MD is a hospitalist with more than 20 years of experience caring for
hospitalized patients across acute care, post-acute, and long-term acute care settings.
She graduated from medical school at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Gr. T.
Popa” in Iași, Romania, in 1996 and completed her internal medicine residency in the
U.S., serving as Chief Resident in her final year.
A hands-on clinician with a strong interest in quality and patient safety, she currently serves as Physician Co-Chair of the Quality and Safety Council at Penrose Hospital USA and over time has led initiatives focused on glycemic control, VTE prevention, and safer transitions of care.
She is passionate about practical, team-based improvements that facilitate better, safer care for patients and clinicians alike.
